Before joining IBC George was facilities and technology editor at weekly UK magazine Broadcast where he launched Broadcast Tech, a bi-monthly magazine about the technology used to create and deliver TV. Before joining Broadcast he lived in Dubai where he wrote about the telecoms, media and technology industries in the Middle East and Africa.
Mathieu Yerle, director of sales & product strategy

Mathieu Yerle is an experienced business development executive and technical leader. He joined Connect in 2017 to help build the company, a software venture focusing on enterprise Monitoring & Control (M&C) solutions for the broadcast and media industry. His responsibilities include managing business development efforts globally as well as product strategy.
Prior to Connect, Mathieu was head of solution architecture & presales for Dalet with responsibilities over North America and Asia-Pacific. He worked on a wide range of large-scale projects for Fox Sports, NASA, Disney ABC, Comcast, TimeWarner Cable, Starz Entertainment, Turner HK, ABS-CBN, Showtime Australia, and more. Previously to Dalet, Mathieu worked as a Strategy consultant in the telecommunication industry.
Ruben Spruijt, senior technologist
Nutanix Xi Frame
Ruben Spruijt is senior technologist at Nutanix, former CTO at Frame and a well-regarded author, speaker, market analyst, technologist. An all-around End User Computing geek.
He is a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP), NVIDIA GRID Community Advisor and was in the Citrix CTP programme from 2008-2017 and VMware vExpert from 2008-2018.
Ruben (co)founded several independent industry bodies such as Project Virtual Reality Check (VRC), VDI Like A Pro, Team Remote Graphics Experts (TeamRGE), WhatMatrix, AppVirtGURU wrote and co-authoring multiple disruptive research papers. Ruben has presented more than 450 sessions at national and international events such as BriForum, Citrix iForum Japan, Citrix Synergy, Gartner Catalyst, Microsoft Ignite, Microsoft TechEd, NVIDIA GTC, and VMworld. He is based in the Netherlands where he lives with his wife and three kids.
Mary Ann Halford, senior independent consultant
For over 25 years, Mary Ann Halford has been actively building businesses in the media and entertainment industry in the US and internationally. She has worked as both an operator and a consultant.
As a consultant, she is currently a senior advisor to OC&C Strategy Consultants as well as independently consulting clients, largely in the filmed entertainment and broadcasting industries. She is also an executive in residence at Progress Partners, a Boston and New York-based investment banking firm.
From 2012 through early 2017, Mary Ann was a key leader in building and developing FTI Consulting’s media and entertainment practice in both the US and EMEA, working largely with broadcasters and content production and distribution companies. She also launched FTI’s media and entertainment practice in EMEA.
As an operator, Mary Ann’s accomplishments include:
- Launching ITN Networks’ digital media business
- Co-founding a consolidation of the leading midway operators for the state and county fair industry which operates as North American Midway Entertainment
- Establishing the Fox International Channels Group, from its initial platform of channels in Latin America to a global operation with channels in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
Additionally, Mary Ann served on the Board of Directors for Triton Digital from 2007 through 2015 and is a Co-founder of Saavn.com, the “Spotify of India”. Mary Ann resides in NYC and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Georgetown University.
Ciaran Doran, EVP international sales & marketing

Ciaran Doran is executive vice president at Pixel Power, a media entertainment technology company specialising in virtualised playout platforms for broadcasters. With a career spanning 30 years and decade each at Sony and Harris Broadcast in engineering, product management, commercial and executive leadership roles Doran offers a wealth of experience across the complete business arena.
Doran began his career as a classical musician, recording engineer and electronic engineer, working on the creative, technical and commercial sides of the professional audio and broadcast industry. This unique combination enables him to understand the deep elements of how technology can deliver or enhance creativity in media & entertainment.
