Haivision, Intel and Nokia joined forces in a collaborative demonstration of a live VR workflow complete with the 4K 3D 360 OZO camera, OZO Live for real-time stereoscopic 360 stitching and advanced streaming format playback powered by the OZO Player SDK.
The demo will also feature Haivision’s new KB 4K internet streaming encoder, which is now available with the Intel Visual Compute Accelerator 2 (Intel VCA 2).
“To support our customers with solutions best suited to their needs, Haivision has invested heavily in software-based encoding for Intel multi core CPU-only platforms and Intel accelerated CPU performance architectures with integrated graphics,” said Mahmoud Al-Daccak, chief technology officer, Haivision.
Using the Intel VCA 2-enabled Haivision KB 4K encoder together with the Nokia OZO virtual reality camera and Nokia OZO Live software, organisations can stream reliable, high quality, real-time, virtual reality experiences that combine 360-degree viewing with a 3D immersive experience for online audiences.
Nokia OZO Live and Haivision’s KB 4K encoder have already powered a number of high profile events including the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert and The CMA Awards Red Carpet.
“The OZO Reality Platform is embraced by a broad ecosystem of partners and this collaboration with Haivision and Intel will enhance the VR 360 experience for our customers globally,” said Tarif Sayed, head of VR Technologies, Nokia Technologies.
Available as small form factor portable appliances, on-premise servers or cloud instances, the KB Series of encoders/transcoders caters to wide range of production environments.
