A hybrid playout solution combining an on-premises automation and integrated channel playout with a system hosted in the public cloud will be showcased on the Pebble stand at IBC. This is controlled via a common user interface, Pebble Remote, a web-based monitoring and control tool which delivers a unified user experience across this playout ecosystem regardless of where channels are hosted.
In addition, Pebble will display the Pebble Control system for the first time in Europe at IBC. Presented as a self-contained, scalable and easy to configure IP connection management tool, Pebble Control is designed to make IP connectivity as simple as SDI. It leverages open standards to interface with NMOS-enabled devices from multiple vendors. It also enables broadcasters to make the leap to an all-IP facility without the need to deploy a bespoke enterprise solution.
According to the company, broadcasters are navigating their way through their IP transition and may not want all their playout in the cloud yet. Pebble says it continues to invest heavily in R&D, working on solutions to be designed, installed and adapted to each type of deployment.
