In an era where digital content can be effortlessly created and manipulated, distinguishing between genuine and fake media has never been more vital. Broadcasters face the challenge of safeguarding the authenticity and origin of their content. The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) addresses this by developing technical standards for certifying the source of media content.

C2PA is a Joint Development Foundation project, formed through an alliance of leading companies such as Adobe, Arm, Intel, Microsoft, and Truepic.

4. G&L Systemhaus enables European broadcasters to achieve C2PA compliance

Alexander Leschinsky, G&L

Alexander Leschinsky, CEO at G&L, said: “Digital technology and especially generative AI have democratised content creation in a way that has never been possible before. But it also makes it easy to edit and alter existing content, and even to create deepfakes indistinguishable from real content to the naked eye. Content publishers see a high risk in losing their audience’s trust if they cannot demonstrate and prove that they are the actual creators of digital assets.”

G&L supports broadcasters by integrating the C2PA workflow into their production and publishing processes, ensuring the authenticity of videos, images, and documents. By embedding C2PA metadata, the origin and editing history of content are tracked, resulting in validated and signed media distinguished by a verification seal.

With G&L’s C2PA tool set, content authenticity can be cryptographically certified and verified throughout its entire lifecycle. Utilising a production-grade SDK with commercial support, G&L ensures fast deployment and reliable content validation, helping media companies meet regulatory requirements and bolster public trust in their brands.

“We’re pleased to provide publishers with a reliable solution through the implementation of C2PA, leveraging our expertise in metadata and digital signatures,” added Leschinsky. “This empowers broadcasters and other media companies, including news agencies, to safeguard their content cryptographically, and offer their audiences clear guidance in uncertain times.”

C2PA is the latest addition to G&L’s extensive portfolio of content security technology, including encryption, DRM, watermarking, or prevention from credential theft.
