Set to make its IBC debut, the Tempest Control App (TCA) from Solid State Logic is a virtualised control application which can run on a local PC, a virtual machine on a shared server, or in the cloud.

Developed as a key component in the development of SSL’s remote and distributed broadcast production models, TCA is software interface enabling operators to control every aspect of mixing, routing, processing and monitoring functions on the company’s System T console. TCA directly controls System T’s DSP and is compatible with all new and existing Tempest Engines, including virtualised cloud-based processing.

SSL’s TCA app delivers virtualised control for live-to-air broadcast

It can be used with something as simple as a touchscreen, but additional hardware control such as fader tiles can be integrated when needed, and any combination of System T hardware and software control interfaces can be used across the entire system.

SSL claims that TCA provides a robust and cost-effective solution for backup systems and second-operator positions, with no compromise in operation wherever TCA is deployed.
