Turkey’s national public broadcaster, Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), has adopted technology from Insys Video Technologies for its streaming service, tabii, to secure and encrypt eight live sports channels.
According to Insys, TRT plans to extend protection to more live channels in future. Additionally, Insys VT is to migrate to and encrypt TRT’s VOD library in the AWS cloud.
Tabii offers its services in multiple languages, including Turkish, English, Arabic, Azeri, and Kurdish, and is accessible on various devices such as web browsers, mobile, and smart TV. Since its launch in May 2023, tabii is said to have attracted over four million subscribers in Turkey and globally.
Ahmet Raşit Taşçi, digital solution lead at TRT, said: “tabii is experiencing unprecedented growth rates, prompting us to ensure our subscribers remain satisfied and continue enjoying the best viewing experience possible. We needed to shift from our existing DRM solution to a more scalable and flexible cloud-based approach, including migrating our VOD library. Since timing was crucial, we were relieved that Insys VT could quickly provide us with an easy to integrate, reliable solution that handles peak viewership without hiccups.”
