IP-based live video specialist TVU Networks has been showcasing its latest advancements in cloud workflows, with presentations on how it helped the BBC to manage 369 simultaneous live feeds during the UK General Election, and its support for France Télévisions’ coverage of the Torch Relay and the Olympic Games.

The company is emphasising its agnostic platform and microservices architecture, which allows for quick adaptation and comprehensive monitoring of cloud operations.

Taya: ”monitor at any time from the live acquisition and live ingest to the PCR, or MCR, entirely in the cloud

According to Yoni Tayar, VP of Marketing at TVU Networks, the aim this year has been to make the company’s cloud-based platform easier for everyone.

“When you create a product, you always think, make it easy for the operator. But in the broadcast world, the engineers need to know what’s happening behind that,” he said.

“We created a network with a rating centre that allows you to monitor at any time from the live acquisition and live ingest to the PCR, or MCR, entirely in the cloud.”

Tayar refers to the company’s microservices as Lego blocks because “we have so many of them today. We started the year with 140. [Now] we have around 215 of them”.
