TV operators that can evolve into providers of new age content, not only with new technologies but also with fundamental different business models, will remain primary content providers, writes Beenius Chief Executive Filip Remškar.
The main technology drivers for the business are: addressable TV, advertising, recommendation and personalisation. Our viewing habits will be transformed into a mixture of voice activations, customisation, and virtual and augmented realities.
We would like to emphasise these new or refresh functionalities, which Beenius can help TV operators achieve. With hybrid solutions, we can extend the lifetime of traditional DVB-C networks to also offer viewers new IP-related features.
In the field of advertising, evolution is on the horizon. Advertising has experienced tremendous disruption in recent years, but until now, it was limited especially to digital. TV remained isolated from this disruption. We saw a shift from traditional advertising media (newspapers, traditional TV) to digital. Beenius is bringing positive aspects of advertising from digital to TV.
Our Castoola platform is an answer to both these aspects. Castoola is a new product covering DVB environments. Besides helping broadcasters and TV operators make their TV channels and networks interactive, it also connects the demand and supply sides by introducing HbbTV as a new media channel for digital advertising.
Primarily, the key challenges ahead are in proving the interoperability between different technology systems. Beenius as a media system integrator addresses this challenge by providing a full E2E turnkey solution for its clients.
