Lumine Group has agreed to acquire the video network business from Synamedia.
Headquartered in the UK, Synamedia is a global provider of video software solutions. With more than 30 years in the industry, Synamedia combines cloud and AI technologies, operational scale, managed services, and domain knowledge to help broadcasters and media companies deliver and monetise video.
Upon completion, this will mark Lumine Group’s 16th corporate carve-out transaction. Consistent with Lumine’s decentralisation strategy, the business will operate independently under its primary product name, Quortex.
Quortex is a SaaS multi-CDN management platform that delivers intelligent video solutions across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments. Its services help customers: prepare for the pending C-band transition in the US; transition from satellite to IP; deliver high-quality viewing experiences; and monetise services.
Synamedia first acquired Quortex in July 2022. At the time, Synamedia highlighted Quortex’s “just-in-time technology” that provided time-to-market and cost advantages over existing cloud approaches by freeing up resources when no one was watching a channel.
Lumine Group’s acquisition is anticipated to close in the near future, subject to customary closing conditions and completion of applicable employee consultation processes.
