The National Basketball Association (NBA) has made a strategic investment in Evergent Technologies, coinciding with a multi-year extension of the companies’ partnership.
The NBA began working with Evergent in 2022 to support global demand for basketball by enabling fans to watch games where and when they wanted via NBA League Pass. NBA has been able to make use of the supplier’s subscriber lifecycle management and multi-device, cross-platform capabilities to support its expansion plans.
Evergent claims to have improved the monetisation of sports content as well as churn management to drive subscriber growth, with a majority of subscribers accessing games from outside the United States.
David Lee, Head of NBA Investments, said: “Personalisation is a key priority for the league and our investment in Evergent will enable us to deliver tailored options for NBA League Pass subscribers. We’re excited to support the company’s growth and strengthen our collaboration.”
Vijay Sajja, Founder and CEO of Evergent Technologies, added: “The future of sports streaming is in crafting personalised fan experiences that deliver unique value and foster loyalty. We’ve seen the powerful impact of our platform on League Pass’s global growth and flexibility for subscribers, and we’re excited to continue innovating together to deliver even more sophisticated features that elevate fan experiences worldwide.”
