The new Cantar Melody 2 Preamp from Aaton Digital is a double input audio preamplifier with low noise and extended bandwidth up to 100kHz and AES42 digital output.
It can also be used to extend the number of inputs for Aaton’s CantarX3 and CantarMini audio recorders. The Melody 2 features high-quality audio transformers, but still manages to retain a very compact form factor.
Aaton has also released new Firmware for CantarX and CantarMini, including digital gain and a limiter for all digital inputs, which is also available on the mixdown.
Carving out its own niche is a new intelligent Wooden Handle for use with a wide variety of cameras, offering many remote and advanced functions. The new handle is a recreation of Aaton Digital’s original iconic wooden camera handle, which it says has been copied by many since its introduction.
The original was made of heather root by an artisan in St Claude, France, a city renowned for the crafting of tobacco pipes. Now it has added electronics and software to remote Arri, Red and Sony cameras.
Aaton is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 12.F30
