The new Theatrixx Reversible Converter system is effectively future-proof, thanks to a modular design that allows individual systems to be configured exactly as required, and reconfigured on-the-fly.
There are various modules available (SDI – including 12G, HDMI, fibre, HDBaseT and more), with new modules being added regularly, such as for line delay, audio embed/de-embed and even a streaming server.

All modules can be inserted with inputs/outputs at either the front or the back of the unit and are enclosed to protect against static shock, dust and general wear and tear.
For uninterrupted uptime the power supplies are configured to switch over automatically in case of failure and LEDs at the front of the unit indicate status. Mains power is delivered via dual locking PowerCon True1 connectors.
Redundancy is built in to the eight-bay 3RU host unit, which features dual, oversized power supplies and gold-plated, redundant spring pins with magnetic retention to power the modules, eliminating fallible cabling and external power bricks.
Jacques Tessier, president, Theatrixx, said: “With the rollout of the Theatrixx Reversible Converter system, video conversion is no longer the weakest link in the signal chain.”
