Nagasoft has added support for NDI|HX IP-based cameras, displays and other equipment used for live production to its low-cost NSCaster-X1 and X1A production tablets.
The NSCaster-X1 and NSCaster-X1A are integrated production tools based around an 11.6in HD touchscreen monitor. They offer multi-channel switching, recording, broadcasting, audio mixer, special effects and monitoring. Built-in Ethernet, WiFi and 4G modules support streaming to YouTube or other online services.
“Software-driven IP workflows have become ubiquitous in video production,” said Michael Kornet, VP for NDI, a brand of the Vizrt Group. “NDI-enabled devices like the NSCaster-X1 and X1A exponentially increase the video sources available for live production, creating efficiencies and opportunities for customers that did not previously exist. NDI is the most widely adopted IP technology on the market, epitomised by the millions of customers with access to it today.”
“While we continue to expand the capabilities of the NSCaster Range, we are excited to add the NDI|HX interface option to these highly integrated production tools for easy integration to an even wider range of video sources,” added Nagasoftsales technical sales manager, Peter Hossfeld. “We look forward to interfacing with an even larger number of products and partners in the future.”
The NSCaster-X1 and X1A have six video input channels, including IP camera, SDI, HDMI, Net (including NDI|HX in and out), DDR local material and other signals, suitable for shooting and recording a professional live event. There is also PTZ camera control, with the ability to control up to four cameras.
For covering sports, such as basketball, football, table tennis, badminton and volleyball, there is also a scoreboard function, with a variety of scoreboard templates built in. There is also a character generator overlay for captions and other graphics.
They support live streaming to multiple platforms (Facebook, YouTube, RTMP, Mudu, AndLive, etc), with SRT support – the X1A differs from the X1 by including three SIM card slots and cellular bonding, with three 4G antennas instead of two.
