Video delivery specialist Kontron is introducing specialised hardware form factors.
Combined with its latest software, Kontron says it will help digital broadcasters and cable operators prepare for the arrival of 5G, while delivering more streams at a lower cost.
The company is showcasing how service providers are able to save costs with their video delivery infrastructure by using its Symkloud converged and edge hardware platforms.
It says that organisations seeking flexible and efficient ways to deliver media content using different architectures can learn how to execute video workloads anywhere from the core to the edge of the network.
In addition, the high-density Symkloud MS2900 series converged platform features up to 18 independent Intel CPU/GPU processors or nine Nvidia T4 GPU cards in a single 2U chassis to transcode more SD, HD, UHD/4K HDR H.264/H.265 video streams.
Kontron claims its platforms enable content and applications closer to the edge, while allowing operators to solve restricted space and power challenges.
Kontron is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 14.D28
