CNN is to launch a $6.99 per month streaming service later this month.
The launch of the ‘All Access’ subscription tier on 28 Oct in the US will provide audiences with one centralised destination for CNN’s journalism, including live and on-demand video programming to stream.
The launch comes three years after CNN parent company Warner Bros. Discovery pulled the plug on a CNN+ platform.
Subscribers of the All Access tier will have the ability to stream a selection of CNN’s live US and International programming; its CNN Originals library of more than 1,000 hours of content, as well as the latest CNN Original Series and CNN Films; new video-on-demand programming and special features; exclusive live events; and all CNN.com articles.
Priced at $6.99 per month, it will also be available for $69.99 annually.
CNN's new focus on streaming comes as parent Warner Bros. Discovery looks to offset declining cable TV revenue and strengthen its streaming presence.
Alex MacCallum, Executive Vice President of Digital Products and Services at CNN Worldwide, said: “It’s an essential step in CNN’s evolution as we work to give audiences the complete CNN experience in a format that reflects how audiences engage with the news today.”
