The Bitmovin Player has been chosen to improve the video streaming performance of 1001, a premier OTT service in Iraq. Bitmovin is also to increase reliability and consistency across devices.
Alongside the use of the Bitmovin Player, 1001 will also reportedly use Bitmovin’s Observability tool to gain deeper visibility and control over playback quality.
Described as Iraq’s premier legal video streaming platform, 1001 offers hyper-localised and international content tailored to diverse audiences.
According to Bitmovin, 1001 selected the Bitmovin Player as part of its broader effort to modernise its OTT service and take greater ownership of its technology stack.
Bilal Alghazi, Vice President (VP) of Engineering at 1001, said: “Since deploying the Bitmovin Player, we’ve seen clear improvements in playback reliability, startup experience, and overall application stability. The consistency of Bitmovin’s SDKs [software development kits] across platforms has simplified development and reduced platform-specific complexity, enabling faster releases and more predictable user experiences. Additionally, the level of configurability and analytics Bitmovin provides has given us deeper visibility and control over playback quality than we had before.”
Stefan Lederer, CEO and Co-Founder of Bitmovin, added: “1001 is a thriving video service that is committed to providing the highest quality viewing experience to its viewers. The Bitmovin Player provides enhanced video streaming capabilities, flawless playback, and advanced observability. We’re thrilled that 1001 has chosen Bitmovin to help it deliver a premium viewing experience to audiences in Iraq and further afield as it continues to mature and scale its offering.”
