Norwegian start-up Muybridge will showcase a software-based volumetric camera system at IBC2026, with the solution enabling real-time, full circular capture of live action for broadcast and production use.
The system uses multiple, relatively low-cost image sensors positioned side-by-side in 2m bars. These can be unobtrusively placed across the back of a tennis court to follow play, for example, or curved around a golfer teeing off to show their swing or arranged in a complete circle around a boxing ring, making the action fully explorable, live or in post.
Because all movement is handled in software, it can be instant, with no gravity or mechanical parts holding it back.
The cameras are fully compatible with industry-standard protocols, including SDI, ST-2110 and NDI, and support RCP, CCU and PTZ control systems for integration into production environments.
The platform supports real-time AI and vision pipelines out of the box, as well as virtual sets, tracking and autonomous production, with direct access to real-time feeds via APIs and SDKs to adapt to existing workflows or power new ones.
