The cameras used today encompass different standards and color spaces. Some output to a video curve, while some shoot RAW. There are significant differences between camera vendors and models. Sometimes video may be shot encoded (i.e. non-RAW) but with a log curve applied to pack the extended range into the smaller container of the video.
