ST 2110 on display: Tang shows off the SDM-ST-2110 receiver card

Thomas Tang, Apantac President, said: The DA-HDTV-DANTE-Tx-UHD converter “takes Dolby Atmos input and encodes it in 16 channels of Dante. It does both de-coding from HDMI that has Dolby Atmos and SDI embedding and de-embedding for broadcast use”.

It also supports Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, Dolby Surround, DTS,

DTS:X (including IMAX Enhanced), MPEG-4 AAC, MPEG-H, SONY 360RA and Auro-3D, as well as PoE+.

For ST 2110 IP production, it now supports a complete workflow, including IP to the display, with the compact new SDM-ST-2110 receiver based on Intel’s Smart Display Modules platform, which can be used with an SDM display. The system also supports SDI I/O and HDMI conversion.

“Everything is under NMOS control, which provides a control and management layer for devices on ST 2110 networks. It makes it plug and play as NMOS automatically recognises it,” added Tang. The card is integrated into the display to saves space and power, reducing cabling, which also makes it more reliable, with fewer points of failure.
