Cobalt Digital adds to Sapphire converter range

Highlighting its simple plug-and-play approach to ST 2110, Cobalt’s IBC lineup includes converters, encoders, audio monitors, and multiviewers in a variety of form factors. This includes the debut of two models within the company’s compact mini-converter series with the Sapphire BBG-2110-4Hi/4Sio and Sapphire BBG-2110-2Hi2Ho/4Sio.

Engineered for demanding workflows, both “whisper-quiet” Sapphire devices deliver low-latency IP conversion with support for 10G/25G Ethernet, audio sample rate conversion, and asynchronous audio mixing, within a space-saving chassis Cobalt says is suited to control rooms, production trucks, or behind-monitor installations. The IPMX-compliant models feature HDMI inputs, while the BBG-2110-2Hi2Ho/4Sio additionally features two bidirectional signal paths.

Also on show is the Pacific 9992-ENC MPEG-2/AVC/HEVC encoder, which now fully supports ST 2110-20 (baseband) and has an ST 2110-22 option for JPEG-XS video for integrated IP. The encoder can be directly deployed in an IPMX facility for local encoding, low-latency internet transport using RIST, or in traditional ASI workflows without having to deploy separate gateway devices. Cobalt says such flexibility enables users to mix traditional SDI, ST 2110 and IPMX feeds within a single platform.
