Hibox Systems, a subsidiary of the Accedo Group, has launched Hibox xprs, which is designed to allow telecom operators and service providers support the provision of managed hospitality TV services in hotels.
According to the company, Hibox xprs allows hotel guests to enjoy their own choice of entertainment, from movies and shows, to sports and music, directly on the TV screen.
The solution uses a dongle that works with any TV with an HDMI port. Hotels can enable casting across rooms by using Hibox Castgate and guests can securely enjoy their content via their smartphone directly on their hotel room TV.
Hibox xprs also includes a library of modern graphic user interfaces designed to modernise a hotel guest’s experience.
Rasmus Almqvist, vice president, Hibox Systems, said: “The consumption of video content is today overwhelmingly done using smartphones, and to serve their hotel guests with better experiences, hotels are increasingly turning to casting. However, replacing in-room displays with built-in casting comes at a significant cost to hotels, both in terms of cost of purchase and in lost revenue while an installation is being carried out. With the launch of Hibox xprs, we are enabling any hotel to rollout modern guest experience services, even on aging TVs.”
