The Pro Convert Audio DX from Magewell is a multi-format IP audio encoder, decoder and capture device which enables users to convert audio between Dante, NDI and SRT while bridging analogue audio, software and IP networks.

The company’s first converter with integrated Dante support, the Pro Convert Audio DX can send and receive up to eight channels of audio in unicast or multicast Dante flows. It supports uncompressed audio delivered using NDI or compressed AAC audio using SRT. By enabling conversion between Dante, ND and SRT, it enables mixed-technology IP production and distribution workflows that support different standards and formats.

The converter can encode analogue audio into Dante, NDI or SRT streams as an ‘on-ramp’ to IP networks, and vice-versa. It can also serve as a plug-and-play audio capture device when connected to a computer.

A virtual audio matrix is accessible via a browser-based UI, to allow routing or mixing of any analogue or IP-based input channel to any analogue, IP, or USB output; it also provides access to encoding and processing parameters. Configuration and control of multiple Pro Convert units is made possible through Magewell’s Control Hub multi-device management software.
