IBC Talent Programme Part 1: At the wrap-up session on the final day of the conference, the IBC Talent Program highlighted the vital role diversity plays in shaping the future of the broadcasting industry.

AI has made an appearance almost everywhere at this year’s IBC and took centre stage in a session moderated by Tom Bowers from Hypothesis Media with panellists Huma Lodhi, Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Sky; Chris Jackson, Global Head of Digital Data and Analytics at the Olympic Channel; and Hardeep Dhaliwal, Head of Data Products at ITV.

A panel comprising an international group of industry experts moderated by Mark Smith, Chair, IBC Council, featured insights on ways broadcasters can fight disinformation.

Esports and gaming agency Unlocked is expanding its presence at IBC this year with a speaker programme spanning all four days of the show. Led by Co-Founder Steven Leunens, Unlocked aims to bridge the gap between traditional broadcasting media and the rapidly evolving world of esports.

Proposed by Eviden and supported by Champions BBC, EBU, IMG and Solent University, ‘IP networks: Finding the needle in the haystack’ looks to identify and solve the challenges around IP infrastructure within broadcast facilities created by the orchestration of media flows – namely, how to find the correct device, sender or receiver when there might be thousands in a facility.

A skilled and diverse team aims to develop a modern system where news organisations collaborate to identify disinformation and authenticate genuine reporting, restoring audience confidence in trustworthy information.
