Fox Corporation’s free ad-supported streaming (FAST) service Tubi has appointed Ross Appleton as UK General Manager.
Appleton joins Tubi following a 12-year career at ITV. In 2021, he became a member of ITV’s Executive Leadership Team as Launch Director for ITVX, the company’s streaming service. Most recently, Stapleton was Director of Operations for Streaming, overseeing ITV’s streaming business.
Tubi launched into the UK market in July with more than 20,000 movies and TV episodes on-demand.
Reporting to David Salmon, the Managing Director of Tubi’s International business, Appleton will be responsible for setting Tubi UK’s commercial and content strategy, building the company’s UK team, and growing Tubi in the UK.

“We are thrilled with the momentum we have built in the UK since we launched in July, and are excited to bring Ross into the business as we continue to scale out our team and platform,” said Salmon. “Ross’ deep expertise in UK TV and streaming will enable us to accelerate our growth and ensure we are delivering a content experience that UK consumers love.”
“I’m hugely excited to join the Tubi team, and look forward to contributing to the business’s rapid growth in the UK,” said Appleton. “Tubi has defined the AVOD category in North America, and we have a great opportunity to replicate that success here. I’m eager to build on the foundation of the recent UK launch, and firmly believe Tubi is in a strong position to become a mainstay in the UK media landscape.”
Tubi’s content library in the UK includes Hollywood films and British classics, as well as UK TV franchises alongside new areas of discovery – from Bollywood and Nollywood to Arthouse Cinema.
It has 81 million monthly active users in the US and Canada.
