Together TV and Red Bee Media have launched a free-to-use streaming service to engage audiences and inspire positive social change.
As an extension of the existing Together TV channel, the new service will use Red Bee Media’s OTT platform to deliver a mix of live and on-demand content. The programming is set to include factual entertainment and thought-provoking documentaries, in addition to the original content created from the annual Diverse Film Fund initiative.
Broadcasting on Freeview, Sky, Virgin and Freesat, Together TV is the world’s first community-owned charitable television channel. By focusing on wellbeing and creativity, whilst championing diverse voices, the channel aims to “open our audience’s eyes to the opportunities around them and motivate them to take part.”
The streaming service is now available through app stores and online for iOS and Android devices, as well as on desktops and tablets. Smart TV apps will follow.
“We are proud to launch this brand-new service that allows our viewers to enjoy Together TV’s inspiring shows and documentaries for free, anytime and anywhere in the UK,” said Alexander Kann, Chief Executive at Together TV.
“We selected Red Bee Media based on the company’s service delivery expertise, market understanding and as a good company to work with. We are delighted to have worked so closely with Red Bee Media and Nowtilus who have both worked tirelessly to help us reach this soft launch.”
Red Bee Media provides broadcast and media services across the entire content delivery chain including: Playout, OTT, Distribution, MCR, Media Management, Access Services, Content Discovery, Playout and Post-Production.
