The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) has announced the board officers and regional governors who will serve two-year terms beginning this month.
Two new SMPTE officers have been elected for a two-year term until December 31, 2027: Membership Vice President Chris Lapp of Cisco and Finance Vice President Troy English of Ross Video.
Another SMPTE officer, Raymond Yeung of Amazon MGM Studios, will continue as SMPTE Standards Vice President for another two-year term.
“SMPTE is an organisation built on the generosity of its members,” said SMPTE Executive Director Sally-Ann D’Amato. “These officers have gone above and beyond for the Society. That’s why the membership trusts them with this important responsibility, and they are prepared to tackle it head-on. These next two years are looking bright for SMPTE because of the participation from our membership and we thank every one of you.”
Another six Regional Governors have been elected by the Society to serve two-year 2026-2027 terms.
Three Regional Governors have been re-elected: Tony Meerakker of Meer Tech Systems for Canada; Sara Seidel of Riedel Communications for the USA Eastern region; Dagmar Driesnack of Appear AS for the EMEA, Central & South America region.
Also elected were three newcomers to the SMPTE Board: Asia-Pacific Region Governor Paul Whybrow of Varda Creative Leadership; USA - Southern Region Governor Andre Normil of FanDuel Sports Network; and USA - Western Region Governor Catherine Meininger of Portrait Displays.
