Fresh from the record-breaking £3.8million pound Drumathon, Head of Content Innovation and Development at BBC Children in Need, Lisa Kelly is charged with spotting new trends and is convinced that tech and gaming are key this year.
Lisa shares how Pudsey Bear will be stepping into a sim-rig to drive supercars, and dancing his way through this year’s appeal to highlight how gaming for good can celebrate neurodiversity and bridge isolation and loneliness as the Charity collaborates with key partners on gaming for good.

Responsible for originating and creating new content and fundraising activations to delight and surprise audiences. When I joined the charity in 2022 I produced their most successful 24 hour challenge –The BBC Breakfast Drumathon – which raised a record breaking £3.8 million. I’m now planning a major gaming activation for this year’s appeal. My background is in journalism and TV broadcasting. I’ve worked for BBC News for 15 years as a senior journalist and output editor. Before that I worked for 15 years at ITV Daytime producing their flagship shows This Morning, LK Today and GMTV.
