A technology partnership between Vortex Communications and audio specialist RØDE is aiming to transform remote content creation.
The integration of Vortex's proprietary CallMe codec into the RØDECaster Pro II and RØDECaster Duo audio production studios enables creators to experience robust, ultra-low-latency, studio-quality remote connectivity over WiFi or Ethernet without having to rely on intermediary software or additional gear.
According to Vortex, CallMe’s secure, fully integrated SIP IP audio connectivity eliminates geographic constraints. It enables users to immediately connect to another RØDECaster Pro II or Duo, and it can also connect to a guest contributor using any browser-based interface by sending an invite via email or QR code. CallMe integration aims to provide low-delay, broadcast-quality remote audio to a wide range of users, including broadcasters, podcasters, internet radio creators, and voice-over professionals.
Available at no cost via a firmware update, RØDE CallMe Lite supports one remote contributor and up to 10 hours of RØDECaster-to-RØDECaster audio calls per month, along with five hours of Web-to-RØDECaster calls. RØDE CallMe and RØDE CallMe Pro tiers are also available.
