WISI has launched a new HDMI encoder module for headend operators managing video services in hotels, hospitals, leisure facilities and residences.
The new HDMI Encoder Modulator OE 01 is described as a user-friendly, cost-effective solution to expand and upgrade existing TV offerings with an additional feed of content from HDMI signal sources. The compact OE 01 enables HD video and audio encoding and digital modulation into an RF signal, compatible for distribution over coaxial cable. The HDMI video signal is compressed with MPEG-4 and is supported on TV sets with a built-in MPEG-4 compatible receiver.
OE 01 has an HDMI input to bring in source signals from devices such as PCs, notebooks, cameras and DVD players supporting video resolutions of up to 1080p60. There is also one RF loop-through input for feeding in existing DVB-C/T signals. On the output side, all common terrestrial/ cable signal modulations are supported (DVB-C/T, ATSC-T/C, DTMB) and are selected directly on the device without additional hardware or software.
The output frequency is said to be easily adjustable to up to 1218MHz. The Encoder Modulator supports NIT/LCN for the creation of a channel order and a smooth channel search. WISI says that other advantages of OE 01 are the user-friendly programming without additional hardware and software, and easy assembly.
