Following the lifting of a 35-year ban on cinema in Saudi Arabia, Nebras Films has established the first full production and post facility in Riyadh.
As part of a complete offering, it includes a Baselight Two grading suite with the latest v5 software, equipped with Blackboard 2 control panel from FilmLight.
Cian Patrick McLysaght, postproduction supervisor, Nebras Films, said:“There is an atmosphere of great excitement here where a new business like Nebras Films can flourish, not just by creating films with Arabic stories and local content, but also in partnership with international collaborators to create films with a global appeal.”
Nebras is a one-stop-shop, from Arri Alexa cameras and motion capture rigs to a networked postproduction facility, for seamless workflows from editorial through VFX to finishing. Post is linked throughout using ContentAgent, to share workflows between suites. This allows editors to work at lower resolutions and the finishing artist in Baselight to pick up the cut and VFX and conform the project in 4K/HDR.
The complete infrastructure has been built for HDR. Given the unforgiving light in the desert, the ability to build latitude into a shot and create and refine looks in Baselight without losing detail is important.
Film Light is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 7.A45.
