Visual Research has unveiled KarismaCG 8K, a real-time 3D graphics system that uses the entire 8K range - 16 times the resolution of HD.
It maintains this is significant because it shows that a true 8K graphics system that responds to fill/key output on 8K 50/60p using whole 8K resolution area of 7680x4320 can be done with only one device, unlike usual methods of displaying partial graphics and dividing the display using several graphics systems.
“This demonstration is a result of continuous research and development even if there is no sales market in Korea at the moment and it is a result achieved by competing with Japanese companies that lead world’s best technology in 8K,” said Charles Kim, president of Seoul-based Visual Research.
The KarismaCG 8K will be released in November, with the intention of being ready for the 8K broadcast of the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020.
Visual Research is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 7.A10.
