Soyoung Lee is Co-Founder and Head of Go-To-Market at Twelvelabs, a company developing multimodal AI foundation models for video understanding.
At IBC2025, Twelvelabs will showcase semantic content discovery and automated metadata creation, as well as demonstrations of how AI models can interpret video.
Lee describes the major trend as the growing need for AI assistants that can automate repetitive tasks such as video tagging, logging, and searching large libraries. While the technology has existed for some time, she says that the challenge is scaling it effectively across diverse workflows. The executive sees this ability to scale as a potential game-changer for large organisations.
Looking to the future, Lee believes advanced video understanding will unlock new levels of personalisation, enabling content to be adapted for different audiences. She also points to the rise of real-time content intelligence, which could make dynamic advertising insertion and enhanced viewer engagement a standard within the media landscape.
