Swiss telco Sunrise has expanded the highlights feature of its yallo TV service with the addition of auto-generated video previews, supported by Media Distillery’s Preview Distillery.
This enhancement allows yallo TV to expand the availability of highlights by 20%, helping viewers to discover more engaging content quickly, according to Media Distillery.
Stefan Fuchs, Chief Consumer Officer of Flanker Brands at Sunrise, said: “With the ever-increasing availability of content, we want to support viewers [to] find relevant content quickly. The solution of Media Distillery allows us to [efficiently] expand the availability of clips for more engaging content.”
Roland Sars, CEO of Media Distillery, said: “We are proud to deliver auto-generated highlights to yallo TV, especially given that they already create high-quality editorial clips. Preview Distillery helps yallo TV scale its content discovery without compromising on quality, making it easier for viewers to find and enjoy the best of their library. Our collaboration demonstrates how AI can empower broadcasters to operate with creator-level agility while maintaining broadcast-grade standards.”
yallo TV’s editorial team currently produces 80 highlights per week for catch-up content and event promos, such as sports games and the auto-generated highlights from Media Distillery is said to complement these editorial-made previews. The service is integrated via Media Distillery’s API.
Sars added: “We continuously iterate to improve our preview generation, making each clip more representative and engaging for viewers. Over the past months, we have been working with the yallo team to make sure the previews meet the editorial standards set by their team. It is great to see how that collaboration has led to the great clips they can use on a larger scale.”
