Genelec unveils 9320A reference controller

Acting as a bridge to its Unio Audio Monitoring Service Platform, speaker specialist Genelec has unveiled its new 9320A reference controller at IBC.

Unio brings together all the benefits of Genelec Smart Active Monitors, GLM 5.0 calibration software and Aural ID 2.0 technology to create integration between professional in-room loudspeaker and headphone monitoring services.

At the heart of the Unio platform is Genelec’s range of Smart Active Monitors, while for professional headphone users, Genelec’s Aural ID technology provides a personal headphone listening experience.

“We wanted to combine the options to have a single controller for in-room monitoring but with the ability to also use headphones,” said Genelec Senior Customer Experience Specialist Marcel Schechter. “This is useful if you have to make revisions, for example, in an environment where there is no speaker system. This can be done with Aural ID using virtual speakers.”

The introduction of Unio and the tactile 9320A hub provides both static and mobile professional audio monitoring applications, which users can integrate via a single mobile desktop device and view the entire system via the user’s MyGenelec account.
