The fifth generation of the Evolution Wireless system for filmmaking and video applications is on show from Sennheiser.
Purpose-built for broadcasters, content creators and filmmakers, EW-DP is a fully digital UHF wireless microphone system with a new portable design. The system’s EW-DP EK receiver features a magnetic stacking system and can be conveniently controlled remotely via Sennheiser’s Smart Assist app.
Besides the stackable receiver, the series includes a bodypack and a handheld transmitter, plus a plug-on transmitter (EW-DP SKP) which will launch in late October. With +48V phantom power on board, the EW-DP SKP will be able to turn any wired XLR microphone into wireless, such as an MKH 416 on a boom pole.
In addition, the plug-on transmitter features a recording function and a locking 3.5mm mic input for lavaliers – which Sennheiser says makes it a versatile tool that can act as a real problem solver.
