Bitmovin’s Observability now available on Akamai Cloud

Bitmovin has announced that its Observability for video playback (formerly Bitmovin’s Analytics) is now available on Akamai Cloud for the Akamai Adaptive Media Player 2 (AMP2). This integration enables improved streaming efficiency, real-time visibility, and deeper integration with Akamai’s services, the company said.

It went on to explain that Bitmovin’s Observability on Akamai Cloud enables streaming providers to track, monitor, and analyse video streams in real-time, delivering actionable insights into viewer experience, engagement, and ad performance.

Bitmovin’s Observability joins its live and VoD encoders, which already run on Akamai Cloud, and Bitmovin’s Player that now powers AMP2.

Stefan Lederer, CEO and co-founder at Bitmovin, said: “Bringing Bitmovin’s Observability to the globally distributed Akamai Cloud marks a major milestone in our long-standing collaboration with Akamai. This integration reflects our commitment to empowering streaming providers with data-driven visibility and the ability to deliver seamless, high-quality viewing experiences across every device and platform.”

Scott Lerner, SVP global services at Akamai, added: “Bitmovin’s Observability on Akamai Cloud is the latest development to come from Bitmovin and Akamai’s close, collaborative relationship and shared focus on streamlining workflows and delivering next-level performance. By integrating Bitmovin’s Observability capabilities directly into the Akamai Adaptive Media Player 2, users can access unified and cohesive insights across a range of platforms, all without the complexity of third-party integrations. Just like powering AMP2 with Bitmovin’s player, adding Bitmovin Observability on Akamai Cloud is part of our overall strategy to bring more functionality and features to our customers.”
