LTN launches live news and sports solutions for broadcast stations

LTN has launched new capabilities that it says help broadcast stations to launch streaming channels faster, deliver live and localised news and sports, and expand distribution across multichannel video programme distributors (MVPD), virtual MVPDs, and OTT platforms.

LTN said its new tools enable local broadcasters to bring more live sports to air while extending live news into new digital formats and channels.

Rick Young, SVP, head of global products at LTN, said: “Broadcast stations can massively grow the value of their local content if they move quickly and operate across every available platform. Our new capabilities are built into our global network, allowing us to give local broadcasters the speed, simplicity, and shortest path to ROI when launching streaming experiences, expand their footprint to MVPD, vMVPD, and OTT partners, and power digital revenue with localised, live news and sports.”

The new capabilities include a complete digital playout stack, with hosted linear and FAST playout for creating versioned channels with minimal operational and engineering effort; live sports master control, a managed environment for acquiring, customising, and managing local/regional sports broadcasts across platforms; dynamic graphics, with integrated L-bars, tickers, and real-time data visualisations tied to sports and news content; and SCTE-driven automation.
