Net Insight has won two major orders from media network customers.
The first is from a major sports league in North America and is valued at around $2.5m including products, professional services, and a five-year support contract. The new 100G IP media network is, says the company, designed to meet the highest quality and security required by today’s premium live sports. The network is said to be highly flexible and to offer support for future remote and distributed production environments.
Ulrik Rohne, VP media networks at Net Insight, said: “We are proud to be selected by one of the leading sports leagues in the world. Net Insight has over 20 years’ experience in building mission-critical media networks with the premium media processing functions needed for the new live production workflows. The media industry is in the middle of an exciting transformation that ultimately will bring new and better live media experiences for viewers all over the world.”
The second order is via Net Insight partner Middle East Telecommunications Company (METCO). The company has signed an agreement with a customer in the Middle East for a new nationwide media network based on the Nimbra solutions. The order value exceeds $1m and is scheduled for delivery by mid-year.
The new network provides HD and UHD/4K uncompressed contribution capabilities covering multiple locations. METCO will use a range of Net Insight’s Nimbra products for multi-purpose transport, media acceleration and professional IP media transport.
Abdulamir Al Muscati, general manager at METCO said: “We chose Net Insight as their open video-centric solution offers a combination of broadcast grade reliability, scalability and simplicity to manage large media networks. The highly flexible Nimbra transport platform also allows for easy future network expansion.”
“We look forward to working closely with METCO to ensure successful implementation,” said Rohne. “We are also proud to share our experience in building IP media networks around the globe.”
