Deluxe has acquired Sony New Media Solutions, a subsidiary of Sony which provides media platform services.
Sony NMS’ Ven.ue offering is described by the company as a an end-to-end solution for avails management, content and aggregation management, distribution and OTT and commerce.
The deal will bolster Delxue’s supply chain credentials and follows the company’s January acquisition of Sundog Media Toolkit, a highly automated cloud-based platform that creates specialised multi-format, multi-language files for theatrical distribution and streaming platforms.
Commenting on the Sony NMS deal, Deluxe CEO Cyril Drabinsky said: “We believe we have created a best-in-class servicing and tech team. Joining the already robust system Deluxe has to offer, this allows us to strengthen our breadth of technology and workflows, while enabling NMS customers full access to Deluxe’s spectrum of integrated supply chain solutions including cinema, localisation and distribution.”
Clients of Sony NMS include Sony Pictures Entertainment and Beta Film GmbH, with produces, finances and distributes high-end entertainment content for the global market. Sony provided Beta Film with content management and digital supply chain services, supporting its video, artwork, metadata transforms and other digital supply chain services for global platform distribution.
In February this year, Sony NMS also announced an agreement to provide content management and digital supply chain services to LevelK, which it described as specialists in international sales and aggregation.
