- Visual Data snaps up DPS for undisclosed fee

Multichannel media management company Visual Data Media Services has struck a deal to acquire Hollywood-based Digital Post Services.
DPS specialises in digital cinema packaging, distribution and quality control for customers across the independent and studio film sector.
With this acquisition, which is part of Visual Data’s broader global acquisitions strategy, the company will continue its expansion into the LA market.
The DPS team will be moved into Visual Data’s LA offices in Burbank. Visual Data also has a facility in London.
Visual Data Media Services chief executive John Trautman said: “There is a huge amount of uncertainty in the sector at the moment, with some major players getting their strategy wrong. Our investment in DPS shows that an ambitious company with the right business models in place can continue to scale, invest, and grow in a sustainable manner.
“We are delighted that the DPS team has joined Visual Data and look forward to providing to expanding the services we offer to our LA and worldwide client base as a result.”
The deal was finalised on 1 February but was announced today, although no financial details were disclosed.
