Data compression specialist V-Nova is supporting the MPEG-5 LCEVC showcase for the third year at IBC2024. It’s also expanding its presence by participating in the all-new AI Tech Zone in Hall 14.
V-Nova is demonstrating how using SMPTE VC-6 can benefit AI object detection and recognition, highlighting a fivefold increase in detection speed to streamline metadata tagging for media workflows.
Guido Meardi, CEO of V-Nova, said: “Cutting-edge innovation is intrinsic to V-Nova’s R&D and to our technologies, and this year we will showcase the benefits of our hierarchical approach in AI [large language models], enabling faster training, better and faster inference and the move of AI to the edge.”
On the topic of MPEG-5 LCEVC, Meardi emphasises that V-Nova’s commitment to the low complexity enhancement video coding specification is “stronger than ever”.
“The LCEVC showcase at IBC includes support from over 40 companies, including the likes of NVIDIA, Hisense, AMD and many others,” he said.
