2019 is “a year of consolidation” for Cooke, according to its European director of sales, Carey Duffy.
It is aiming to fill all the gaps in its lens line-ups, most notably its range of Full Frame Plus 1.8x anamorphics. It hopes to have the full line-up complete by the end of the year, with 32, 40, 50, 75, 100, 135 and 180mm (all T2.3).
Duffy believes that “full-frame anamorphics are what will really push full-frame camera capture.
“If you are going to shoot 6K [on a Sony Venice] on full frame, most cinematographers are going to go: ‘Wow’,” he continued. “It’s a field of view that has not been available to them before.”
Duffy also hopes to have all the fill-in lenses for its S7 series of T2 Full Frame Plus primes (16, 21, 27, 65 and 180mm) shipping this year. It has already delivered all the remaining lenses in its range of Panchro Classics (the 21, 27, 65 2-1 Macro, and 135mm - T2.2 to T2.8).
Cooke Optics is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 12.D10.
