The new Came-TV/Feelworld F5 Pro is a low-cost 5.5-in touchscreen on-camera monitor that features a IPS 1920x1080 LCD screen.
Priced at just $139, it has a claimed contrast ratio of 1000:1, with a brightness of 500 nits and a 160º viewing angle. It has HDMI input/output (with 4K loop out – supporting up to 4096x2160/24p or 3840x2160 at up to 30p), so is best suited to use with DSLRs or compact mirrorless cameras. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and DC In, DC Out (for powering the camera) and 5v USB-C input, as well as a Sony NP-F970 battery plate.
The touchscreen display accesses such controls as: histogram, false colour, peaking, framing guide, audio, anamorphic display and pixel-to-pixel zoom – which is easy to do using a pinch-to-zoom gesture. It also has an array of control buttons.
It has 1/4-20 screw mounts (top, bottom, right and rear) for ease of rigging and weighs 245g. Users can also fit an external wireless transmitter or receiver (making it useful as a director’s monitor) or a small LED panel light beside the battery. The display comes with a cold-shoe mounted Tilt Arm, so doesn’t need any further rigging to be used with the camera. It also comes with a foldable sunshade.
