The new MS Swift is Waterbird’s latest bendable Multi Slider, this time designed for high-speed use.
Its new brushless DC motor can move a camera at up to 2.8 metres per second, and is also virtually silent, making it ideal for interviews.
Its carriage runs on ball bearings, which also reduces noise and offers smoother more stable gliding. The patented Multi Slider can be used for straight or curved tracks, with two brake levers locking the system at any radius, down to 250mm. This bendability also makes it easy to fold for transport.
Users can control the system via DMX, allowing easy integration into existing control systems. It can also be used with a joystick or pedals. A free app can also be used to control the system and allows users to set ping-pong or step-by-step modes. For timelapse work the camera shutter and focus can be triggered by the app.
Each segment of the Multi Slider has a 3/8″-16 mounting port for tripod mounting, and the system can take a payload of up to 4.5kg. Prices start at €3290 for a 150cm length system, which is long enough to allow for nearly circular movement.
Waterbird is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 12.E73.
