Pascale Fromont, Vice President and General Manager of Media, Intelsat, said: “Our latest managed connectivity solution, IntelsatOne IP, can integrate with our other technologies such as satellite and fibre into what we call hybrid distribution – we take the best technologies and combine them to optimise the distribution reach and also the cost point for customers, for maximum reach and reliability.”

Additionally, Intelsat has signed a hybrid television content distribution deal to deliver Hearst Networks EMEA (formerly known as A+E Networks EMEA) channels across Europe thanks to its satellite-terrestrial connection.

Hearst Networks EMEA needed to maximise the reach of its flagship channels, as well as delivering content in over 18 languages, audio and subtitles, to as large an audience as possible.

Hearst Networks EMEA content is transmitted through Intelsat’s 1West satellite neighbourhood as well as the terrestrial IP network. Combined, this hybrid delivery model enables A+E to reach more than 16.5 million cable, broadcast and DTH homes.
