The Magic ACX Dante WAN Bridge from AVT is a new system intended to solve the problems that might occur when transmitting Dante signals over longer distances.
The multi-channel PCM system enables the transmission of up to 32 uncompressed audio signals via WAN, including the internet.
The audio connection for the audio inputs/outputs is provided by the integrated 32-channel Dante/AES67 interface, and the audio signal is transmitted uncompressed via PCM. The device includes a management software that can manage up to ten systems in one graphical user interface on any PC.
Lukas Mahler, marketing and sales assistant at AVT, said: “Dante networks allow a maximum latency of 5ms to 40ms, making it difficult to transfer the signal via wide area networks. Also, the problem of high jitter and different clock signals at sender and receiver side can obstruct the transmission. These obstacles are eliminated by the system.”
