The Media Workflow Manager is a keystone of the Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) stand this year.
It allows broadcasters to automate and orchestrate end-to-end video supply chain networks, manage resources in the cloud and manipulate and enrich asset and EPG metadata. It also enables HPE’s other video-file based media services in the cloud.
Paolo Ceccherini, WW solution family lead at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, said: “We have multiple solutions that are oriented to the telecom and broadcaster media domain.”
Among the solutions on display are the Virtual Headend Manager, News Gathering Web App and Interactive TV.
Atheer Sabti, video solutions architect at HPE, said: “Interactive TV is about how you can monetise the content you’re sending to the customer. If you are watching on a first screen, we have a companion app that’s rich with metadata. Say you’re watching an episode of Friends and the scene is in a New York City restaurant – all of that information about the location or products in the scene will be clickable on the companion app on another device. It could take you to a shopping website, where you can purchase a jacket or a watch that the actors are wearing. That’s Interactive TV in a nutshell.”
HPE is also showing its News Gathering Web App which allows broadcasters to track contributors via Google Maps and go live to vloggers and bloggers on their devices to include them within a live broadcast.
HPE is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 15.MS4.
