The company has announced a partnership with cloud-based video production workflow provider Limecraft to allow producers and distributors to create closed captions and translated subtitles more economically.
By incorporating Speechmatics’ automatic speech recognition (ASR) technology into the Limecraft Flow solution, broadcasters can automatically turn all audio files into timed text in as many as 122 languages. Using complimentary Natural Language Processing (NLP), Limecraft Flow cuts the timed transcript into broadcast-grade subtitles, taking into account the rhythm of the edit and any applicable spotting rules. By adding Machine Translation to the pipeline, Limecraft automatically translates those subtitles into any other language, allowing producers and distributors to create different language versions at substantially less cost, said Speechmatics.
The partnership enables Limecraft’s customers to create highly accurate closed captions in the same language. Customers report 50% to 75% cost saving compared to their current workflows, according to Speechmatics.
Speechmatics is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 8.E17.
