Channing Dungey, Chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group, is to take on additional responsibility for Warner Bros. Discovery’s US Networks business.
The move follows news of the retirement of Kathleen Finch, Chairman and CEO of US Networks, after 25 years at the company.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s US Networks business is home to cable networks including Discovery, Food Network, TLC, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Investigation Discovery.
Dungey has run the TV Group since January 2021 and has creative responsibility for all of Warner Bros.’ television production activities, including shows such as Ted Lasso, Abbott Elementary and The Bachelor. She is the first woman and first black executive to run WBTVG. Before joining Warner Bros., Dungey was Vice President of Original Series at Netflix.

David Zaslav, CEO, Warner Bros. Discovery, said: “There is no one better at developing captivating content, compelling talent, and meaningful lifestyle brands than Kathleen, who has been my partner as we built our premier entertainment networks at Discovery and created Warner Bros. Discovery as an unscripted powerhouse. While I understand her long-standing decision to retire, I will certainly miss her, as will the entire company, which has benefitted from her unmatched collaboration and unique understanding of what our audiences crave.”
Zaslav added: “Channing is an unparalleled creative executive who has shepherded countless award-winning hit shows. She has the ideal expertise and experience – as a content developer, platform programmer, and network executive – to lead the US Networks.”
