IMG has acquired sports broadcast fibre service provider Cingularity, in a move that will bolster IMG Productions’ content delivery capabilities for federations, events and broadcasters.
Cingularity specialises in remote production video solutions and has worked closely with sports and event producer IMG in recent years to support remote production for clients, including Amazon for tennis and EuroLeague basketball.
IMG said that, as the market for remote production continues to rapidly grow and the world moves toward a hybrid model of fibre, satellite, cloud and IP, Cingularity’s technology will allow it to develop a bespoke in-house remote production solution incorporating connectivity.
“This will be an important addition to IMG’s suite of world-leading production/distribution services and solutions,” said IMG in a statement.
Cingularity’s founder Dan Pope and his team, based in the UK and Stockholm, Sweden, will become part of IMG.
